Architectural Review

Mission:

To maintain, enhance and improve the beauty and integrity of 2393 SW Park Place. To assist the Board of Directors with design and replacement specifications for interior and exterior building elements. To assist and review owner applications and specifications prior to remodeling, and to communicate those requests to the Board of Directors.

Accomplishments, 2007

The Architectural Review Committee had submitted in 2005, at the annual meeting, a proposal and drawings for major renovation of both the lobby and the front of the building. The proposal was shelved by the new board. The Board instead spent a year assessing the exterior of the building, windows, decks, and railings. As everyone knows the Board did move forward and voted in 2007 to complete the restoration on the south elevation, prime and paint the railings and redo sixteen deck surfaces. The assessment conducted by Western Architecture Company will serve as a guide for exterior and interior restoration for the next few years. The goal of 2005 was completed in 2007.

The Architectural committee also reviewed submitted plans this past year for remodels. Members of the committee were involved in the hiring of a colorist who advised the homeowners on colors for the walls and ceilings that would go with the dark brown railings and go with the existing colors in the neighborhood.

The Architectural Committee was not able to attract a chair this past year so regular scheduled meetings did not take place. However, a discussion on issues was addressed by members through email.

Goals 2008

This year the architectural committee should have a full agenda with locating a chair, reviewing guidelines for air conditioner units mounted on decks, interior and exterior painting needs, and other elements related to the common area.
